Pena out for season
Tampa Bay Rays first baseman Carlos Pena broke two fingers on his hand and is out for the season. Pena was struck by a fastball on the fingers while swinging the bat and broke his middle and index fingers.
The first baseman said he knew it was bad news as soon as it happened but thought he could deal with the pain.
He said he is incredibly disappointed to end the season in this way because he was really looking forward to finishing strong over the final three weeks.
